Bionicon USA is Moving!

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Bionicon USA is in the process of moving their Southern California base of operations to the recreational mecca of the Kern River Valley. With it’s year-round riding, and plethora of other outdoor recreational opportunities, the Kern Valley has been beckoning for some time. We’ve been playing in the area for more than fifteen years, and are really happy to be moving to an area we love to ride.

The area has been steadily gaining in popularity with mountain bikers from all over California and the southwest, and for good reason. It’s only about a three-hour drive from Los Angeles, and many of you are already familiar with the quality riding in the area. There are numerous free and paid campgrounds, and the Kern River Brewing company to quench your thirst after a long day of sh*t-eating grins!

The new Bionicon USA campus will feature a ready-to-ride fleet of demo bikes that can be taken out on the local world-class trails, including the Cannell Trail and Just Outstanding, and nearby Keyesville, home of the famous Keyesville Classic mountain bike event.

We’ll be located at the corner of Evans Road (SR 155) and Wofford Boulevard, right at the turnoff to Shirley Meadows (the trailhead for Just Outstanding).

Our new address is:

Bionicon USA
6511 Wofford Boulevard
Wofford Heights, California 93285
Phone: (760) 376-8600
Fax: (760) 376-8655

Bionicon USA HeadquartersUntil the official opening, it’s best to call ahead to book a demo bike at least the day before your trip, but if you see the red Bionicon flags flying outside, feel free to stop by and say Hi.

We’ll keep everyone posted on our progress, and look forward to sharing our new back yard (actually it’s been our back yard for more than 15 years!) with you. We’ll be announcing the official opening soon.

BIONICON MOUNTAIN BIKES PROVE THEIR VERSATILITY AT KEYESVILLE

Bionicon Riders at the 20th Annual Bionicon Keyesville Classic Race prove the all-mountain capabilities and versatility of the full range of Bionicon Backcountry Bicycles.

Ridgecrest, California – The 20th Annual Keyesville Classic mountain bike race was held March 15 and 16, 2008. Bionicon Backcountry Mountainbikes, based in nearby Ridgecrest, California, took the title sponsorship for the event, which attracted a field of over 300 riders from across the USA. Spectators and competitors alike were treated to an incredibly fun set of race courses, some demanding weather that included snow, rain and sun, and a fun weekend that all will remember fondness.

Bionicon USA took special interest in the All-Mountain component, in which riders compete in Downhill, Short Track and Cross-Country events on the same bike, and an all-mountain winner is determined by a point system. The All-Mountain event did not have age divisions, only race categories. (more…)

Bionicon sponsors 2008 Keyesville Classic

Mic Pre-rides the classic cross-country course
Bionicon Backcountry Mountainbikes has teamed up with the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) as the title sponsor of the 20th Annual Keyesville Classic, March 14th-16th. An early-season event on the USA Cycling Calendar, the event will feature cyclists of all ages and skill levels, all bound by a common love of riding serpentine singletrack on their knobby tired machines.

The 2008 Keyesville Classic will feature cross country, down hill, and short track races over the course of the weekend. The signature event of the weekend, the Bionicon All Mountain Stage Race, combines the three events into a three-stage race, which encourages riders to test their all around strengths against other racers. During the All Mountain Stage Race, riders must use the same bike for all three events, with the exception of an allowed tire change for the downhill race stage.

The event will begin Friday March 14th at the Kernville Brewery with a showing of KLUNKERZ, at 6:00pm, and friendly atmosphere where event participants and attendees can mingle and celebrate the history of mountain biking. The public is invited to arrive early and enjoy the food and beer at the brewery, which opens at 1:00pm. Attendees will find vendors, food, live music Saturday, and great camping at the staging area. A Vintage Bike race and Trials competition are also planned, and are always crowd favorites.
