Bionicon USA is Moving!

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Bionicon USA is in the process of moving their Southern California base of operations to the recreational mecca of the Kern River Valley. With it’s year-round riding, and plethora of other outdoor recreational opportunities, the Kern Valley has been beckoning for some time. We’ve been playing in the area for more than fifteen years, and are really happy to be moving to an area we love to ride.

The area has been steadily gaining in popularity with mountain bikers from all over California and the southwest, and for good reason. It’s only about a three-hour drive from Los Angeles, and many of you are already familiar with the quality riding in the area. There are numerous free and paid campgrounds, and the Kern River Brewing company to quench your thirst after a long day of sh*t-eating grins!

The new Bionicon USA campus will feature a ready-to-ride fleet of demo bikes that can be taken out on the local world-class trails, including the Cannell Trail and Just Outstanding, and nearby Keyesville, home of the famous Keyesville Classic mountain bike event.

We’ll be located at the corner of Evans Road (SR 155) and Wofford Boulevard, right at the turnoff to Shirley Meadows (the trailhead for Just Outstanding).

Our new address is:

Bionicon USA
6511 Wofford Boulevard
Wofford Heights, California 93285
Phone: (760) 376-8600
Fax: (760) 376-8655

Bionicon USA HeadquartersUntil the official opening, it’s best to call ahead to book a demo bike at least the day before your trip, but if you see the red Bionicon flags flying outside, feel free to stop by and say Hi.

We’ll keep everyone posted on our progress, and look forward to sharing our new back yard (actually it’s been our back yard for more than 15 years!) with you. We’ll be announcing the official opening soon.

Here’s how to find us:

New Bionicon Kern Campus Preview

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

This past weekend, June 20 and 21, we gave a little unannounced sneak preview of the new Bionicon USA campus in the Kern River Valley at Wofford Heights.

With just word of mouth and our orange flags flying, we had lots of eager and happy visitors, sending out demo bikes all weekend. The local response was overwhelmingly positive, and we are being welcomed into the local community with open arms. We’re stoked to be making the move.

The Kern Valley has so much potential, not just for mountain biking, but with the Kern River, Lake Isabella, and the surrounding Southern Sierra mountains, the recreational opportunities are astounding.

We’re still in the process of moving operations, but look for an official announcement soon.

CORBA’s Annual Fat Tire Fest is set for October 12, 2008.

Bionicon is proud to support the ongoing advocacy work of CORBA, the Concerned Off-Road Bicyclists Assocation. Bionicon will be at the Fat Tire Fest, and will have a fleet of demo bikes available for test rides.

This is a family event with rides for everyone from beginner to experts. Win prizes in the legendary raffle, the poker ride, wheelie contest, hill-climb contest, log pull, or the silent auction.

CORBA, the Concerned Off-Road Bicyclist Association, an all volunteer-run non-profit, has been instrumental in gaining and maintaining access to Southern California trails for mountain bikers. This is their annual fundraising event, the proceeds of which go to fund their trailbuilding crew, their ongoing advocacy work and fight for new trails.

The Fat Tire Fest will be held October 12, 2008 at Castaic Lake.

Monday, September 8th, 2008

We are growing a Brand and look forward to sharing our Passion with you!

Bionicon has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings in Germany back in 1999. It’s an exciting journey, and we’re enjoying every minute of it. The company has grown into a highly respected innovator in the mountain bike industry, with divisions on three continents.

Happy Demo Riders at Corriganville

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Thanks to everyone who came out for the All-Pro Bicycles shop demo at Corriganville Park this past weekend. It was great to see every one of the demo bikes out on the trail by 8:15 in the morning. Most went out a second time as well, and the interest was definitely high.

We know of at least a few people who rode that are now pleading with significant others for permission to upgrade older bikes or add a new one to their stable, and at least one who will have a very happy Christmas!

Thanks to Gina and Dave from All Pro for hosting the event and sending everyone our way to “catch the buzz” of Bionicon’s bikes. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with All Pro. They’re great people and we learned from many that they’re just as down to earth and helpful as one would expect from a family owned and operated bike shop.

Give them a visit out on Tapo Street in Simi Valley, or visit their web site at http://allprobikes.com.
