BIONICON BICYCLES INHERITS THE KEYESVILLE CLASSIC
Bionicon promotes the 21st Annual Keyesville Classic Race as a fundraiser for trail stewardship.
Ridgecrest, California – January 9, 2009 - Title Sponsor Bionicon Bicycles is now promoting and directing the Keyesville Classic in partnership with Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) of Bakersfield, CA who has operated the event for the last 20 years. The SSFTA has done an incredible job with the Keyesville Classic throughout the years and at one point it was the largest race in the Western US. Bionicon will now carry on the tradition of this fun and exciting event with the vision of bringing the Keyesville Classic back into the spotlight and create a fundraiser that will generate contributions for trail stewardship programs in the local area and Southern California.
The 21st Annual Keyesville Classic will take place in the Kern Valley March 13-15 with racing for everyone, including a Vintage Bike class. The events this year include the Keyesville Classic XC, Short Track, the Snake Pit and Dutch Flat Combined Time Downhill, Trials Competition and an entertaining kid’s race. The Bionicon All-Mountain Stage Race was a huge success last year and will be the spotlight of this year’s event; it challenges riders to compete in XC, DH and Short Track on exactly the same bike. Kern River Brewing Company has invited participants to come in on Friday evening and pick up their race packets, socialize, enjoy the good food and drinks.
Year after year riders and their families flock to the Keyesville Classic for its challenging courses, great camping, scenery and atmosphere. Experience the Keyesville Classic and help support continued Trail Stewardship in Southern California.
